"I was Sleepwalking" claims a Man who has been arrested for allegedly trying to rape his Son's girlfriend



A Georgia man accused of crawling into bed where his son’s girlfriend was sleeping and attempted to have sex with her claimed he was sleepwalking when he got to the room where she was.

54-year-old Ricardo Arturo Cole Sr. was arrested Aug. 15 on one rape charge following the incident which allegedly occurred on April 8.



The victim was sleeping around 1 a.m. on April 8 in the home her boyfriend shared with Cole, when she felt someone get into bed behind her, but didn’t see who it was and assumed it was her boyfriend, the police report said. The person rolled down the woman's pants and made an attempt at intercourse, but there was no penetration.


The victim turned around and saw it was Cole and then pushed Cole away and asked what he was doing. Cole apologized and said he was sleepwalking, the report says.

After that incident, the victim cut off contact with her boyfriend and Cole, according to the report.

According to AJC, Cole is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
