Mechanic Workshop Razed by Fire, Vehicles Burnt


A really horrific fire outbreak has consumed as many as nineteen vehicles inside a
mechanic workshop in Onitsha. It has been reported that a mystery fire, early Friday morning gutted about 19 vehicles parked in a mechanic workshop in Awada area of Onitsha, Anambra State.

According to newsmen, it was gathered that the incident happened at around 2 am.

Police public relations officer of Anambra State police command, SP Haruna Mohammed told Daily Post that,

“At About 2 am, there was fire outbreak inside a mechanic workshop located at Amanator Street, Awada.

“About 19 vehicles parked at the workshop were affected. While some were completely burnt, others were burnt partially.”

It was gathered that a high tension pole, whose wire passed through the area was also badly affected.

Haruna said,
“The fire was eventually put off by the concerted efforts of residents of the area.

“Police patrol team attached to Awada Division rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the situation to loot.”

It was reported that no loss of life or injury was recorded in the incident.

“EEDC has been contacted to effect necessary repairs on the affected power line. The case is under investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident,”
SP Haruna Mohammed stated.

Femi Falana gets information on N4.6b fuel drained daily from FG
