Federal Ministry of Health has assured Nigerians that 15 Chinese medical experts who arrived Nigeria some moments ago to support in the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19), will also be tested of the same before they are allowed to carry out any support.
According to the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire in a statement made available to newsmen, the Federal Government has sent to 14 days Isolation the Chinese doctors who recently arrived in Nigeria.
Osagie added that President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration will ensure proper distribution of medical supplies brought by the team from China.
He said:
“Federal Ministry of Health assures that the Federal Government, through the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), will ensure the quality of all the medical
supplies that were brought into the country.
“It must be stressed that, following global best practices and in line with our advisory, the medical experts from China have gone into isolation for 14 days and will be tested for COVID-19,’’ Osagie reiterates.
Meanwhile, Naija News had reported that a citizen of the United Kingdom has died of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lagos State.
This was made known on Twitter by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, on Wednesday.
