Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City
Jack Grealish is ‘on the verge’ of joining Manchester United according to the Daily Express.
The Aston Villa captain is believed to be a target for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after impressing in his first season back in the Premier League.
Grealish, 24, has managed nine goals and six assists in 34 matches this season and remains key to Villa beating relegation.
Defeat to Wolves on Saturday plunged Dean Smith’s side further into trouble with six games to go and Grealish will need to be at his best if they are to escape the drop.
The England hopeful is expected to leave once the campaign concludes though and United’s rivals Manchester City have also been linked with a move.
It was reported yesterday that Pep Guardiola could try to sign Grealish as a potential replacement for Bayern Munich bound winger Leroy Sane.
But the Express claims a deal for Grealish to move to United is a foregone conclusion. The report states: “United are edging closer to the signing of Grealish and a transfer deal should go through without any hitches.”
It was reported over the weekend that Grealish has purchased a house in Manchester ahead of his impending summer switch.
