Woman In Police Custody For Beating, Breaking Her Adopted 6-Year-Old Child’s Leg

Kastina state police spokesman, SP Isah Gambo while parading the suspect said; “Rahama Sani who lives with an adopted child, one Abdulkadiri Mu’awuya, aged 6 years, was found to have subjected him to various inhuman and degrading treatments.”

A 45-year-old woman identified as Rahama Sani, has been arrested by officers of the Katsina State command for the inhuman treatment meted on a 6-year-old child under her guidance.

The state police spokesman, SP Isah Gambo while parading the suspect said; “Rahama Sani who lives with an adopted child, one Abdulkadiri Mu’awuya, aged 6 years, was found to have subjected him to various inhuman and degrading treatments.”

He also revealed that during nvestigation, Abdulkadiri was seen with several degrees of injuries on his body and a fractured right leg, all allegedly inflicted by Rahama Sani. Abdulkadiri has been taken to the General Hospital Katsina, for treatment.

Rahama Sani told journalists that Abdulkadiri’s father brought him under her care, saying he had separated with his mother and his step-mother rejected him. According to Rahama, she accepted to cater for the 6-year-old even though she does not know him nor his father too well.

She further said that Abdulkadiri had bruises when she adopted him and claimed other homes have rejected him for being too naughty and always beating children.

It was gathered that Rahama Sani is a staff of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Katsina, and a residence of Kwado Quarters.

However, it was alleged that Abdulkadiri was once seen at her residence crying with tied hands and legs.
