This incident is now not a ways from what brought on the #EndSars protest three months back. The Nigerian police promised Nigerians to rid the Nigeria Police force of corrupt police men and disbanded the Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS, the team that is much more guilty of the deed of police brutality, bribery, extortion, and harassment of nationals, and vowed to reconstruct the police for better policing. Nigerians had to continue the protest even after the group has been disbanded for the fact that it is the same corrupt police men that would nevertheless be in the system.
Few months after the #EndSars protest, we maintain listening to of the new police force engaging in the identical corrupt practice that led to the protest. And now this. And it leaves me with no other option than to ask this very question. When will the Nigerian Police Force policing get better? Will citizens of Nigeria keep experiencing equal corrupt policing and not make nationals especially youths, go on another protest for same reason?
