Two young boys have been killed by an out-of-control driver on a walk with their mother on Tuesday.
Their father, Joseph Shorey was left “shattered” after he was told his two young sons were killed by a car in Australia.
The boys Shane, seven, and Sheldon, six, died instantly following the crash at around 4.30 pm on Tuesday in Wellington, New South Wales, Australia.
The tragic kids were with their mum, older brother and a friend when they were hit by a car, allegedly travelling at an excessive speed.
Their mum Shayleen Frail, 34, and a family friend were both flown to Westmead Hospital in Sydney critical conditions.
Mr Shorey, who lives 1,118 miles away in Queensland, told the Daily Mail, “I only saw them the day before and they gave me big hugs and cuddles and said, ‘Dad, we love you, we’ll see you on the 17th’.
“Now I’ve lost my two youngest boys.
Oldest son Mark, nine, was taken to Orange Base Hospital after the incident and has not yet been told his brothers have died, added Mr Shorey.
“He just thinks they are in hospital like him, I don’t know how I’m going to tell him.
“My kids should be burying me, I shouldn’t have to be burying them, they were my world.”
He added that sports enthusiasts Shane and Sheldon were “very happy go lucky, just beautiful”.
The dad was called by family who said they’d heard his kids had been involved in an accident.
He then called Wellington Hospital before being put in touch with a detective who told him what had happened.
NSW Ambulance Superintendent Andrew DeGabriel said paramedics were “confronted with an absolutely devastating scene” when responding to the crash.
