A Lagos businesswoman, identified as Tina has reportedly starved a 5-month-old baby, Chidubem, to death due to his mother’s inability to repay the hospital bill.
According to Human Right Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, the mother of the baby, a 19-year-old reached out to him for help after her madam, Tina seized her baby for months because she was unable to pay back hospital bills she helped her clear when she delivered the baby.
The baby, however returned to the mother malnourished and half dead.
Harrison added that it took the intervention of the Lagos state Social Welfare and police to retrieve the baby from madam Tina.
Sadly, Chidubem died yesterday, 17th December after all efforts to salvage what was left of the malnourished child proved abortive.
Sharing a before and after photos of Chidubem, he wrote; “19 year old Gift is reporting her Madam for seizing her baby because she’s unable to pay back hospital bills she helped her cleared.
“It’s been reported that it took the intervention of Lagos State Social Welfare and the police before they could retrieve the baby from Madam Tina and handed over to the mother.
“The mother said they returned her child (half dea_d) and shared the before pictures and recent pictures of her 5-months old son to us.
