Nigeria May Split Before 2023 Elections – Onaiyekan Declares

John Cardinal Onaiyekan, a former Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Diocese, has raised fears that Nigeria may split before 2023 because of the sad realities in the country, including security challenges. He said Nigerian leaders would always want to remain in office even after their tenure because of “greed, wickedness and stupidity”. The cleric stated that one of the obstacles that had been threatening democracy in Nigeria was that incumbent governments did not want free and fair election. Onaiyekan stated these in an interview with Saturday PUNCH in Abuja. He said, “There is no reason why the spate of insecurity should continue like this till 2023. There is no reason why we should not be able to finally settle this problem before the year 2022 is over. “If it is not over, it means we have failed as a nation and the question will no longer be whether we can have election or not, but whether it makes sense even having an election because we don’t have a country; the matter is serious. “As

The Brief History Of Northern Nigeria Before Amalgamation

To understand Nigeria you need to know the history to explain the politics. When the British arrived in what became Northern Nigeria, there were by then lets say for arguments sake two nations ruling the North predominantly the Fulani and then also the Indigenous Hausa, the latter of which the Hausa kingdoms were constantly being attacked by the Fulani who are conquers by nature. The British to keep a balance assisted the Hausa and with their help confronted the Fulani. The Fulani understanding conquest took to their new masters the British and in return for their new found compliant attitude Lord Lugard made every Emir in every town in the north a Fulani, inadvertently giving power back to the Fulani. (I wonder if this is where the phrase “the only thing Nigeria understands is war” stems from). Then in 1914 for financial reasons the British amalgamated the Northern Nigeria Protectorate with the Southern Protectorates, now these were entirely two very different regions, as the southern

I Went For Surrogacy To Avoid Baby Daddy Drama – Actress, Ini Edo Reveals

Ini Edo, the very popular actress, has said that she decided to go the surrogacy route to have her child in order to avoid the drama that usually accompanies single parenthood. In an interview with a popular blogger, the 39-year-old said, “I opted for a donor for me and my baby’s peace of mind. Ideally, it should be marriage before children but we are not living in an ideal world. Another reason I opted for a donor is because it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby on public forums or when I see the man insisting that he wants his child if things do not work out between both parties. For me, it is the fear of what that would mean for the child. I am not someone who allows any situation control me. I make lemonades out of lemons thrown my way and have no regrets. Life itself is so fragile and short to be striving for perfection. I am well and capable of taking care of my child as I have been taking care of myself. I wanted a chi

I started the work of God in 1970; this is my 51 years in the vineyard of God. Though, I was born into a Methodist Church family, when I was called by God in 1970, I joined the C&S Church.  I became independent in 1992. So, as I said, in totality, I’ve been into ministration for 51 years. When did you start living in this area? I have been living in this community since 1993. We learnt that a newborn baby girl was dumped on the altar of your church by a yet-to-be-identified person. How did it happen? On that fateful day, we heard the cry of a baby around 5am and we started wondering where that could be coming from because we live in the building behind the church and we did not have anybody with a newborn baby in our church. So,
