A Local Hunter distinguished as Thomas Ajagu, of Toungo nearby government region, Adamawa state has been remanded in jail guardianship for supposedly killing his stepson, Ushahemba Ajagu on July 24.
The dad of four was charged to court by the police after he supposedly shot and killed Ajagu during the intensity of a conflict they had over the selling of tramadol, Indian hemp, gin and development of a tent.
Thomas, who conceded to the supposed offenses of “unlawful ownership of weapon and punishable manslaughter”, portrayed that he killed Ushahemba who was a dad of two, while protecting himself.
While being charged under the watchful eye of the Chief Magistrate Court I on Wednesday, August 2, the respondent said he was the person who raised the departed following the end of his dad, and that he had been having a running fight with him since he grew up and participated in selling of such unlawful substances.
As per Thomas, he cautioned the departed on a few events to the degree of revealing him to the trackers’ association and the police in Toungo for him to quit managing in the illegal substances however without much of any result. He said upon his return from ranch right then and there, he met the departed in the organization of his companions smoking Indian hemp and attempting to raise a tent where he will sell the substances.
As per him, he prevented them from raising the tent, however out of incitement, the departed went into the house and equipped himself with a cutlass, and stood up to him trying to go after him. He asserted that he incidentally shot a gunfire while attempting to shield himself from being hit with the cutlass because of which the departed tumbled down.
The departed was raced to the clinic where he was affirmed dead.
After the respondent’s request, the investigator, Inspector S.S. Nicholas, informed the court that the examination had been closed and that the matter is dismissed to empower them send case record to DPP for guidance.
