The soundtrack was written as a tribute to the lead actor of the first Black Panther movie, Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020 after a long battle with colon cancer at age 43.

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has bagged her first Golden Globe nomination for her contribution on the soundtrack for Marvel movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The ‘Essence crooner’ was nominated for Best Original Score award category alongside Rihanna, and other songwriters – Ludwig Göransson and Ryan Coogler.

Tems co-wrote the song titled ‘Lift Me Up’, which was performed by Rihanna and released on November 4.
