Sadio Mane showed a touch of class on Sunday evening, as he embraced his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah following the Africa Cup of Nations final. Mane’s Senegal defeated Salah’s Egypt on penalties to win the prestigious competition for the first time in his nation’s history. Both Mane and Salah had suffered defeat before in the AFCON final, with Senegal losing to Algeria in 2019 and Cameroon defeating Egypt in 2017. Mane – who missed a penalty in the opening minutes of the game – was the hero, as he blasted in the winning spot kick in the shootout. A young man who is so much in love had his day ruined after his girlfriend of seven years embarrassed him in public. The young man who thought it right to propose to her girlfriend in a public had his proposal rejected and disgraced with the cake he had brought for the small surprise event. The man who had gone on his knees as everyone does had a slap land on his face after the lady saw her man on one knee and the proposal cake on the table where she sat. Despite efforts by people present to calm the lady down, she got infuriated the more and proceeded to give the kneeling man a second slap, throwing his cake at him afterward.
