Nollywood veteran, Pete Edochie has said presidential aspirants like the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC cannot be Nigerian president because they are too old. Speaking with BBC Igbo, Edochie said the former Lagos State governor has been in power for a long time and should consider resigning. The aged actor also decried the marginalisation of Southeasterners politically and their inability to produce a president since the country returned to democracy. He said the Asiwaju of Lagos should leave power so that the youths who are healthier and are capable of moving the nation forward will take over.  In the spirit of Ramadan, fast rising singer Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable has showed love to his Muslim brothers and sisters. As Muslims across the world mark the annual fasting season, Portable has reached out to the less privileged. Despite his controversial lifestyle, the singer doesn’t joke with helping humanity. On Friday night, April 1st, Portable gave out provisions and foodstuffs to kids and their parents to help sustain them during the fasting season.

Mother dips five-year-old daughter’s hands in hot water for stealing fish in Calabar Cross River State. Her Mother, a food vendor prepared 19 pieces of fish for her business and went out; on getting back, she met only one Furious mother dips the hands of her daughter in hot water for consuming 95% of the fish she acquired to sell for profit. A popular Yoruba comic actor, Kunle Adetokunbo, popularly called Dejo Tunfulu has died. Fellow thespian, Kunle Afod, shared the news on his Instagram page on Friday. The president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr Latin, also confirmed his death. “Yes, it is confirmed. He died in a hospital this morning. But I am yet to get full details of the incident,” he told our correspondent on Friday. The deceased shot into limelight for his role in the movie titled: “Omo Oran”, featuring the veteran actor Fatai Adetayo (Lalude). Details later.

A Nigerian policeman, Ugwu Chiemezie, has tendered his resignation over his inability to feed himself and also take care of other basic needs. The police constable serving at Igbo Eze South Police Station, Ibagwa Aka, Nsukka, Enugu State, in a letter to the area commander and other relevant police authorities, said he was quitting the Nigeria Police Force as a result of hardship occasioned by poor remuneration, welfare and general working conditions. The letter dated March 25, 2022, reads, “I, PC Ugwu Chiemezie with force 528089 posted to Igbo Eze South Police Station, Ibagwa Aka, humbly put down this letter to request for resignation of my police job. “The purpose of my resignation is as a result of poor remuneration which is unbearable to me because I find it hard to feed myself with three standard meals let alone self maintena...
