An Okada rider and his accomplices have been arrested by the police in Ogun State. These people were arrested for conniving with other men to gang-rape an 18-year-old female passenger and per what we gathered, the incident reportedly happened on Tuesday, August 30 at Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun. This was confirmed by the Ogun State Police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi and in his submission, the victim reported the incident at the Ogijo police division. Her report led to the arrest of the suspects who are now in the custody of the police. At least two persons have died in the three-storey building that collapsed at the Beirut GSM market in the Kano metropolis. The Secretary, of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in Kano, Musa Abdullahi, said an official of Kano Electricity Distribution Company was electrocuted during the rescue operation. He said the official died while trying to cut the electric supply into the collapsed building but the power from the transformer accidentally relayed back, killing him. Also, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), which jointly coordinated the rescue operation said eight persons were rescued from the building and taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital. Unfortunately one of them died at the hospital. The NEMA spokesperson, Manzo Ezekiel, said six persons with minor injuries were treated and discharged. The Katsina State Police Command has captured 19 thought armed robbers and recuperated 13 taken vehicles. A resident of Zamfara state identified as Samaila Muhammad has had his hands amputated by bandits in the state.
