A heartbreaking incident has occurred in St Martins Parish Mbape recently involving a catechist from Benue state named Oliver Vershima and a lady suspected to be his lover who tragically lost her life while attempting an abortion at home.
Vershima quickly concealed her body in his room until around seven pm that day until preparing to move it out of town before being caught by concerned village members trying to dispose of it secretly but managed to escape amidst much confusion.
Terhemba- one of those witness reports commented that Oliver Vershima was assigned as a worker at St Augustine Zone Jov Mabhura where he met his deceased lover adding "On questioning him It was discovered that he(Oliver) impregnated a young lady suspected to be his lover but while attempting an abortion at home she sadly lost her life early hours of the day "
Terhemba went on to say that the identity of the deceased was not known yet but that it was thought she hailed from a nearby village.
The corpse of the young lady has been recovered by the police and has been deposited at a morgue while investigations are ongoing.
