Snowdonia in Wales is host to an extraordinary new addition: The Deep Sleep Hotel - officially declared as having captured world’s record as being deepest hotel yet discovered-125 meters (or 1375 feet) beneath ground level! Delving deep into an abandoned Victorian slate mine with your guide directing you along ancient miner staircases, old bridges and scrambles -all while providing rich historical insights.
The accommodations for guests include a grotto outfitted with a double bed and four private twin-bed cabins -where prices begin at £350 and go as high as £550 respectively.
Admissions for single travelers are calculated by room capacity, regardless of the guest count.
Guests of The Deep Sleep hotel are accepted only on Saturdays, with departures scheduled for Sunday mornings.
After meeting the guide at Tanygrisiau Base near Blaenau Ffestiniog on Saturday evenings at five o'clock, guests must trek 45 minutes up into the mountains before further proceeding towards reaching the hotel entrance.
The required gear you receive includes helmets to keep you head-safe lamps to light your way harnesses to ensure a secure descent together with boots suitable for such exploration.
You can expect a chilly 10 degrees Celsius temperature once you've arrived but be rest assured that there will be hot drinks and breakfast served early Sunday morning ahead of making your ascent back up to ground level.
