Local Resident Allegedly Set on Fire by Mob for Suspected Attempted Theft of Church Generator in Akwa Ibom

In a regrettable incident, a young man was reportedly set on fire by an enraged mob for allegedly attempting to steal a generator from a new generation church along Atiku Abubakar Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

A witness, Amb Dignity Usenekong, who narrated the incident said the suspect was caught on Sunday night, October 1, 2023, and macheted by the mob before being set ablaze. 
 
“Burning in this picture is a young man who chose to sacrifice himself today. I mean, it's a thief who was caught today 1st October 2023 while attempting to steal a generator in a new generation church in my neighborhood, Atiku Abubakar Avenue after putting off the generator that was on,” he narrated.
 
"The mob descended on him with lots of matchet cuts and bruises from stones before finally dragging him out to the tarred today set him ablaze
 
“While I condemn jungle Justice and advice that people should stop stealing, I have the confidence that the young man is in Heaven already although too early, because he was confessing and praying the Lord's prayer before being finally set ablaze.”

Femi Falana gets information on N4.6b fuel drained daily from FG

The federal government has forwarded to Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) information on fuel importation and sundry matters. The requested information was forwarded to the lawyer by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) which was acting on the directive of the Minister of state, Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachukwu as requested in his letter to the minister dated April 17, 2018.
