Man jailed for 10 years after stabbing his father to death 'following years of sex abuse'

A man identified as Sean Maurice, has been jailed for stabbing his 52-year-old father, Paul Maurice to death. Sean who was handed a 10-year jail sentence, stabbed his father more than 30 times in the back and reportedly claimed he sexually abused him. The 31-year-old who admitted manslaughter was arrested after an alarm was raised by the victim’s next-door neighbours in Bromley, south-east London. Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC said car salesman Paul told the couple he did not want to die as he collapsed bleeding on their doorstep after the attack. As he was being treated by emergency services, a police officer asked him who was responsible and he replied: “Sean.” Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.56pm. Pig kills butcher in slaughterhouse

A stunned pig about to be slaughtered killed a butcher at a slaughterhouse in Hong Kong. Police said that the 61-year-old butcher had shot the animal with a stun gun in order to slaughter it. However, the pig regained consciousness and knocked him over. A colleague at the Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse in northern Hong Kong found the butcher with a meat cleaver still in his hand and an injured left foot. While police have not yet determined the cause of death, it appears the butcher was knocked over by the struggling pig on Friday, Jan. 20, and sustained a wound from the 15 inch blade. It is “too early” to talk about a potential 2024 election bid for Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Putin is currently serving his fourth term as president, and has effectively been in power since 1999 when he was first appointed prime minister. Court remands five men for 'intentionally' crushing three women to death with car in Oyo

The Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, has ordered the remand of five men in a correctional centre for the alleged murder of three women in Oyo State. The suspects, Oyetunji Omotayo, Akinlabi Michael, Oyetunji Rotimi, Adedokun Mathew and Wojuala Oluwatosin, were arraigned on Monday, January 23, 2023, for intentionally using their vehicle to crush the victims to death. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 1st January, 2023, in Akinmorin town, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State. The Police charged the five men with a three -count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder and obstruction of justice. Police prosecutor, ASP.
