The apex bank also denied claims that it plans to shut down commercial banks in a geo-political zone. Police in the USA are now searching for an irresponsible mother who abandoned her children in Texas. The police say they are looking for the mother who abandoned her 12-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son for two months. An arrest warrant has been issued by the Roman Forest Police Department for mother Raven Yates, who is charged with two counts of abandoning/endangering a child without the intent to return, the department said. Police said they received a phone call from the concerned father of the 12-year-old on Nov. 14 who reported that the two children had been home alone since Sept. 28, 2022. During the weeks they spent alone at home, the siblings allegedly had limited access to food or medicine. The father, who lived and worked in California, immediately flew to Texas, police said. A 34-year-old self-acclaimed prophet identified as Osinachi Makuo and a 50-year-old mother, have been arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of the Imo State Police Command. Olatunji Taiwo, a Nigerian has been remanded in custody. An Ilorin Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of Olatunji after he was caught in possession of female underwear and some charms. Olatunji is standing trial for the alleged theft of ladies’ underwear and attempt to escape from lawful custody, contrary to sections 287 and 95 of the Penal code law of Nigeria. A Nigerian national, Adedunmola Gbadegesin, was on Friday sent to a 60-month jail term for a money laundering conspiracy. Gbadegesin, who was arrested in Nigeria in September 2021, had also been charged with wire fraud over his involvement in an international romance scheme. The charge was, however, dropped in a plea deal. The romance scheme cost a Lexington woman approximately $200,000, the Kentucky Herald-Leader reported. The Nigerian pleaded guilty to one count of money laundering conspiracy in September, the report added, citing court documents. Before his sentencing, Gbadegesin was said to have admitted his guilt in court, claiming he got involved in the scheme to feed his family but was apologetic for his actions. His lawyer asked for a 36-month prison sentence while the prosecution recommended 63 months. A branch of the Guaranty Trust Bank in the Mararaba area of the Federal Capital Territory was reportedly engulfed in flames in the early hours of Friday, The PUNCH reports. According to Sky News, the move follows a question asked by Rev Joanna Stobart, vicar of Ilminster and Whitelackington in Somerset at the synod. A 40-year-old cocoa farmer, Akinola Akinnibinu has been killed by his abductors in Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State over delayed ransom payment. According to The Nation, the kidnappers killed Akinnibinu and and applied chemical on his corpse. The body was discovered on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, four days after the abductors contacted his wife to demand ransom. It was gathered that the kidnappers abducted Akinola at his farm at Oko Oparun and demanded N700,000 ransom.
