Delta poly moves to generate renewable energy for institution

Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara in the Ethiope East Local Government Area has embarked on moves to generate renewable energy for the institution. The Rector of the Polytechnic, Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, disclosed this during the 21st matriculation ceremony of the institution on Friday. He noted that the polytechnic was committed to building a new generation of inventors, innovators and entrepreneurs that the state and country would be proud of. In this direction, he said the polytechnic had already set up a very powerful team of experts to generate renewable energy for the institution. New naira: 10 states ask Supreme Court to void Buhari’s directive

Ten states have asked the supreme court to declare the new directive of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), reintroducing the old N200 notes and declaring old N500 and N1,000 notes as unconstitutional. Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has assured residents of the state on the completion of the ongoing Osogbo-Ikirun-Kwara Boundary road. Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the people of troubled Birnin-Gwari in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State said they have started reaching out to various terrorist groups for the successful conduct of the poll in the area. 24,254 PVCs uncollected in Sokoto – REC

As Nigerians approach the 2023 general election, no fewer than 24,254 permanent voter cards are uncollected in Sokoto State. The state Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Dr Nura Ali, disclosed this while addressing journalists at the Nigerian Union of Journalists Press Centre in Sokoto. Dr John Abebe, the brother-in-law of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has been sentenced to seven years for offences bordering on forgery and money laundering. Former Ekiti State Governor, Segun Oni has dismissed reports of working for the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu. The body of former Ghana international Christian Atsu has been found after a devastating earthquake in Turkey, local media reported Saturday, quoting his manager. Turkish rescuers on Saturday pulled three people, including a child, alive from the rubble 13 days after a massive quake claimed tens of thousands of lives, but one later died, a Turkey media platform reported. Abia police confirm killing of three by suspected cultists

The Abia State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three employees of the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency in Aba, the commercial hub of the state, on Friday. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, said the deceased persons were on duty in the area. Ogbonna added that they were identified as ASEPA staffers who were on duty in the area.
