 In a concerning incident in Bauchi State, the Police Command has taken action by arresting two teenagers, 19-year-old Hajara Usman and 18-year-old Ibrahim Usman. The arrests were made in connection with the suspected abduction of a newborn baby in the Misau Local Government Area of the state.   Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, July 27, 2023, said the suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy and abduction.    According to the PPRO, the suspects sneaked into the apartment of the mother, who recently gave birth and abducted the baby.    “On 25/7/23 at about 0700hrs, one Adamu Baka ‘m’ of Galawa area Akuyam district of Misau local government area aged 55yrs reported at Akuyam outstation that at about 0430hrs, unknown persons intruded into his daughter's apartment who recently gave birth and carted away with the newly born baby,” the statement read.   "On receipt of the report, a tea...

In a recent operation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police successfully apprehended a Nigerian and two Tanzanian nationals who are suspected to be involved in drug trafficking activities. The arrests took place as part of the authorities' efforts to combat the illicit drug trade in the region. The arrests were made on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, as part of the ANC’s ongoing efforts to combat drug smuggling in the city. The first arrest involved the Nigerian, Chimezie Chika Edward Amaraegbu, 45, who resided in Nalasopara.  He was allegedly caught with a substantial amount of drugs—200 grams of methamphetamine and 100 grams of mephedrone (MD) with an estimated street value of Rs 60 lakh.  Investigations also revealed that Amaraegbu was living in India without valid documents, and he was also booked under violation of the Foreigners Act 1946.  According to the police, he had originally entered India on a medical visa back in 2012 and was supplying drugs to peddl...
