A 25-year-old Kenyan woman is facing arson charges after she allegedly set fire to her former boyfriend's residence, causing damage estimated at Sh120,000 to the property. Patience Cherotich is accused of setting fire to the house located at TRM Drive in Kasarani, Nairobi on August 10, 2023. "On the 10th day of August, 2023, at Veeland Apartments, you did willfully and unlawfully set fire to a structure used as a bedroom, valued at Sh120,000, belonging to Benjamin Obeten,” reads the charge sheet. Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of the Mexican drug lord known as 'El Chapo,' has been set free from a US prison after completing a nearly two-year sentence for her involvement in drug trafficking and money laundering. This release was confirmed by prison authorities. During her sentencing, Coronel, a dual US-Mexican citizen, expressed deep remorse for her involvement with Guzman and the Sinaloa Cartel and the harm she may have caused. Guzman, who twice escaped from prison in Mexico, is serving a life sentence at Colorado’s Supermax prison after he was convicted in 2019 of engaging in a criminal enterprise, drug trafficking, and firearms charges. In a recent and heated exchange, Singer Skales and the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, found themselves at odds over the untimely passing of the 27-year-old singer, Mohbad. Skales had taken to the microblogging site to ask if there is still a police service in Nigeria. It is believed he asked the question after watching a video of the deceased singer being harassed on a music set. There have been reports that he was threatened and humiliated by some industry players. Taking to X, Skales wrote; ‘’Police no de this country?'' Edafe saw his post and responded by saying that Twitter is not a police station as anyone aggrieved is expected to make a formal complaint at a police station. The grieving father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Ayoba, popularly known as Mohbad, has broken his silence and shared his thoughts on his son's untimely demise. The singer died on Tuesday, September 12, and was laid to rest in Ikorodu the following day. His grieving father, Mr. Joseph Ayoba has recounted his visit to the singer days before the sad incident. Speaking to an online blogger, Og_baba1 in an interview, Mr. Joseph described his late son as his friend. Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has asserted that the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) is fully aware of Peter Obi's loss in the February 25 election. Despite this knowledge, they are determined to propagate what he perceives as false information, insisting that Obi emerged victorious in the election, according to Soyinka.  Soyinka said this on Wednesday, September 13, while speaking at an event in Stellenbosch, South Africa. “This recent election – two things happened first of all. One party took over the labour movement, which is not my favourite movement, and then it became a regional party. Whereas it was a marvellous breach into the established two camps. In the aftermath of the tragic passing of Mohbad on Tuesday, September 13th, renowned music blogger Ayo Jaguda has expressed his views, suggesting that Naira Marley cannot deny his involvement in the difficulties that his former signee, Mohbad, endured prior to his demise. Ayo shared a video of Mohbad and rapper, Zlatan, on a music set sometime in July this year, where a group of men, one of them now identified as SamLarry, stormed the set and attempted to assault Mohbad. The allegations suggest that they are attempting to take control of Mohbad's properties from his grieving 24-year-old widow. In a recent tribunal proceeding, allegations have emerged against a doctor for engaging in sexual activity with several women, one of whom was described as vulnerable, within the confines of his consultation room. The Sun reports that Tom Plimmer, has been accused of forcing a woman into weekly sex sessions at his office in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK. At least five others have also accused the 40-year-old of inviting them to the practice for sex acts during working hours, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal heard. He was also accused of sending one woman unsolicited pictures of his genitals which were taken at work. Furious residents of Impendle in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, South Africa, are voicing their anger over the increasing incidents of rape in their community.
