The shocking incident unfolded when the young houseboy, whose identity remains undisclosed, reportedly took the life of his employer. A 25-year-old Kenyan woman is facing arson charges after she allegedly set fire to her former boyfriend's residence, causing damage estimated at Sh120,000 to the property. Patience Cherotich is accused of setting fire to the house located at TRM Drive in Kasarani, Nairobi on August 10, 2023. "On the 10th day of August, 2023, at Veeland Apartments, you did willfully and unlawfully set fire to a structure used as a bedroom, valued at Sh120,000, belonging to Benjamin Obeten,” reads the charge sheet. This release was confirmed by prison authorities. In a recent and heated exchange, Singer Skales and the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, found themselves at odds over the untimely passing of the 27-year-old singer, Mohbad. Skales had taken to the microblogging site to ask if there is still a police service in Nigeria. It is believed he asked the question after watching a video of the deceased singer being harassed on a music set. There have been reports that he was threatened and humiliated by some industry players. Taking to X, Skales wrote; ‘’Police no de this country?'' Edafe saw his post and responded by saying that Twitter is not a police station as anyone aggrieved is expected to make a formal complaint at a police station. The grieving father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Ayoba, popularly known as Mohbad, has broken his silence and shared his thoughts on his son's untimely demise. The singer died on Tuesday, September 12, and was laid to rest in Ikorodu the following day. His grieving father, Mr. Joseph Ayoba has recounted his visit to the singer days before the sad incident. Speaking to an online blogger, Og_baba1 in an interview, Mr. Joseph described his late son as his friend. He also revealed his final moment with him, saying he had paid him a visit to his house last Saturday, September 9, and they had lunch together. Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka has asserted that the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) is fully aware of Peter Obi's loss in the February 25 election. Despite this knowledge, they are determined to propagate what he perceives as false information, insisting that Obi emerged victorious in the election, according to Soyinka.  Soyinka said this on Wednesday, September 13, while speaking at an event in Stellenbosch, South Africa. “This recent election – two things happened first of all. In the aftermath of the tragic passing of Mohbad on Tuesday, September 13th, renowned music blogger Ayo Jaguda has expressed his views, suggesting that Naira Marley cannot deny his involvement in the difficulties that his former signee, Mohbad, endured prior to his demise. Ayo shared a video of Mohbad and rapper, Zlatan, on a music set sometime in July this year, where a group of men, one of them now identified as SamLarry, stormed the set and attempted to assault Mohbad.  In the wake of the untimely demise of Nigerian singer Mohbad, a controversy has emerged on social media, with accusations directed at some members of the deceased artist's family. The allegations suggest that they are attempting to take control of Mohbad's properties from his grieving 24-year-old widow. They made the allegation while reacting to a video recorded from his graveyard in Ikorodu where he was buried. Some men could be heard saying his wife shouldn't come near his burial ground otherwise they would take over his property from them.  Some Nigerians took to social media to slam the men for plotting to take over his properties from the wife and their son. Furious residents of Impendle in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, South Africa, are voicing their anger over the increasing incidents of rape in their community. They were speaking after a 31-year-old man raped his fiancée's 8-year-old daughter, a grade 3 pupil.  The suspect was denied bail on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Impendle magistrate's court on a charge of rape.  Community activist and ANC ward 5 branch chairperson, Thami Mkhulise said one of the aggravating factors cited during the accused's bail hearing was that he had allegedly threatened the victim and his fiancée.  “This is the type of people we have in our society,” said Mkhulise.
